About Justin Rothberg
Justin Rothberg is a highly-sought freelance musician based in New York City, specializing in playing guitar for Broadway, studio work, and tours. With a collection of about 30 stringed instruments he can produce just about any sound in a variety of styles, and offers his musical talents to a wide range of clients and audiences.
Justin has performed worldwide in jazz, rock, music theater, classical, country, and R&B appearing with artists such as Petula Clark, Jason Robert Brown, Michael Tilson Thomas, Bernadette Peters, The Harlem Chamber players, The Ocean City Pops, Paul Gemignani, Sister Nancy, Matisyahu, Julie Dexter and Lebo M.
In music theater, Justin has been a Broadway chair holder for Spamalot, Bad Cinderella, Kiss Me Kate, Gettin’ the Band Back Together, and Home for the Holidays. Other productions he's played in include Bat Out of Hell (City Centre), Desperate Measures (Off-Broadway) Finding Neverland (US Tour), Bridges of Madison County (US Tour) and Unmasked (Paper Mill Playhouse). Justin currently is in-demand as a substitute guitarist and continues to freelance on Broadway shows including The Lion King, Aladdin, Book Of Mormon and Moulin Rouge. His playing is featured on several music theater cast albums.
As a recording artist, Justin has recorded guitar for Apple TV’s “Little Voice", and recorded for Taylor Dayne (front page of the iTunes store), King Django, The Rocksteady Seven and Eastern Standard Time. His original composition (God of Abraham) was featured on the version city rockers record "Fortitude riddim" His original jazz-fusion project The Justin Rothberg Group recently released its third album, “Hurricane Mouse,” and continues to play around New York City.
